We are currently looking for a reliable and detail-oriented General Finance Administrator to join our finance team. This position is offered as a

temporary role to cover sick and maternity leave

, with the potential to become permanent depending on business requirements.

Role Overview:


As a General Finance Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the finance team by managing various financial tasks, including purchase ledger, credit control, and other administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have

good knowledge of Excel

and be able to use it effectively for reporting, reconciliations, and data management. This is a flexible role that offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:



Manage the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payment requests, and supplier statements. Handle credit control duties, such as chasing overdue payments, managing customer accounts, and ensuring timely settlement of debts. Reconcile supplier statements to ensure all accounts are accurate and up to date. Assist with processing payments and preparing payment runs. Support month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, and financial reporting. Respond to internal and external financial queries in a professional and timely manner. Assist with internal audits and ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Provide general administrative support across the finance department. Demonstrate flexibility by supporting other areas of the finance function as needed.

Skills & Experience:



Proven experience in a finance or accounting administration role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

Good knowledge of Excel

- including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and generate reports. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial tasks. Experience with accounting software (Sage 200 is beneficial but not essential). Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. A flexible and adaptable approach to working across various finance functions. Ability to work independently and take initiative.
