We are recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic finance administrator to support the critical finance activities of the department.
The Opportunity:
This senior administrator position will be responsible for accurately converting requests for goods and services into formal requisitions in our finance management software, monitoring the supply and receipting process, and ensuring that suppliers are paid in a timely manner. All procurement activity will be channeled through this position, with support from other non-finance staff when needed. The careful management of supply chains for our department is a crucial role to ensure that vital supplies and equipment remain available at all times.
Services supporting biomedical research to the academic community in the University are recharged internally at cost. The position will also be responsible for processing service data and preparing internal recharge information. If you have natural curiosity, a willingness to learn and are good with your hands please consider this post. Full training can be given.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The salary for this post is between
29,588 to 36,608
per annum.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Highly skilled in IT, with practical skills in Microsoft Excel and/or finance management tools.
Proven administrative ability to work with a high level of accuracy, independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
Good communication skills, with a service provision mindset.
Well-developed skills in planning and prioritising workload.
Comprehensive knowledge of financial systems in use in the University and associated legal frameworks such as VAT.
