ABOUT THE ROLE




The Finance Administrator will play a key role in supporting the BESA Group accounting function within the Finance Department. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, managing both sales and purchase ledgers, and processing bank transactions efficiently. The Finance Administrator will uphold our values by taking ownership of their work, showing flexibility, caring about quality and detail, understanding customer needs, applying commercial awareness, and seeking ways to continuously improve our financial processes.

Key Duties



Take accountability for maintaining accurate and up-to-date purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring all transactions are processed promptly and in full compliance with company policies. Demonstrate care and customer empathy by reconciling vendor statements, investigating discrepancies, and resolving any issues with professionalism and respect for both internal and external stakeholders. Apply strong commercial awareness when preparing and posting nominal journals to support accurate financial reporting and informed business decision-making. Show accountability and a commitment to continuous improvement by reconciling balance sheet and bank accounts regularly, maintaining accuracy while identifying opportunities to streamline processes. Display agility in managing daily banking activities, including processing inter-company transfers and responding quickly to changing business priorities. Uphold accountability by ensuring all bank statements are entered daily into the accounting system with a focus on timeliness and data integrity. Demonstrate care and a drive for continuous improvement by reconciling and processing monthly credit card statements and direct debit collections accurately and efficiently. Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting month-end reconciliations and reporting, identifying ways to enhance accuracy and improve financial workflows. Work with care and agility to support daily office tasks, collaborating with colleagues to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Finance Department.

ABOUT YOU




Skills & Knowledge - Essential



Maths and English GCSE Grade C (4) or above Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft office software

Skills & Knowledge - Desirable



Experience of using accountancy software AAT level 3 qualified (or equivalent qualification) or appropriate time qualified experience
