We are seeking an experienced Finance and General Manager to oversee our small close-knit team within a long-standing family run company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and leadership, coupled with a proven track record in enhancing operational efficiency. As the Finance and General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all departments work cohesively towards achieving our business goals while maintaining high standards of service and quality.
Responsibilities
Oversee financial management, including financial accounting, planning, and reporting. Banking, reconciliations, nominal journals, VAT and payroll preparation.
Manage accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments and maintain positive supplier relationships.
Manage accounts receivable processes to ensure healthy cash flow is maintained with effective credit control.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies, including HR, quality assurance, health and safety, insurance matters and other data compliance such as packaging waste and carbon footprint.
Oversee our IT systems are running safely and effectively by liaising with external professional support teams.
Oversee pricing control, maintenance and supplier rebate claims.
Stock management control.
Other ad hoc duties as required including back up and support during staff absence and holidays.
Requirements
AAT Fully Qualified / Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Studies.
Proven experience in a managerial role preferably within the financial sector.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of financial management principles, including financial accounting and an ability to manage confidential data.
Experience using ERP / integrated software such as Merlin Business Software or Sage.
Excellent analytical, numerical and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Sharp time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving objectives.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation.
Flexible approach to work within a small, close-knit team.
