In this role, you'll experience all aspects of working in a busy shared services function encompassing, accounts payable, cashbook, Sub-Contract Ledgers & annual audits.
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days based in the office and two days working from home. During the training period, you will be expected to attend the office five days a week to ensure consistency and a smooth onboarding process.

Previous experience in a finance/accounts assistant role within the construction sector is highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of CIS, subcontractor payments, and industry-specific procurement processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with construction-focused finance systems (e.g., COINS, Causeway, Sage Construction, or equivalent).
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with the capability to work under pressure.
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise a busy workload and to meet deadlines
Proven experience at working within a dynamic constantly changing environment
Confidence to interact confidently with other members of the finance team and wider business

The Finance Assistant plays a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the finance team through reliable and accurate financial processing, administrative support, and collaboration. Provide reliable and proactive support to the finance manager in delivering accurate and timely financial processes.
Act as a flexible team resource, stepping in to support colleagues during busy periods, leave, or project work.
Contribute to the team's performance by supporting the preparation of reports, reconciliations, and KPIs.
Uphold financial controls and support adherence to internal policies and external standards, including the Prompt Payment Code.
Foster a collaborative and positive team environment through effective communication and a willingness to assist others.
About the Central Support team
Predominately based in our Rugby Head Office (Coventry relocation Q4 2025), the central support team is made up of support functions such as purchase ledger, payroll and Corporate reporting which are key to the success of the wider business. We partner with the sector and regional business units to provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers.
