We're seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. This is a full-time hybrid role with an initial two-month onsite training period, offering the opportunity to work across all areas of finance in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
As a Reconciliation Specialist, you'll play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy and integrity across multiple accounts. You'll be responsible for daily bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and processing payments and expenses. This is a data-heavy role requiring advanced Excel skills and a strong understanding of financial systems including Sage Intacct, Proclaim, and Yooz.
You'll be part of a 17-person team managing approximately 4,000 invoices monthly--processing up to 4 million across the business. The successful candidate will be a confident all-rounder, comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with a proactive and inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily and weekly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
Reconcile general ledger accounts including inherited charges, repatriation, and replacement bike transactions
Manage company credit card and insurer account reconciliations
Post daily bank transactions into Sage Intacct
Process and authorise payments including staff expenses and bike salvage transactions
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve reconciliation queries
Support supplier statement reconciliation and purchase order matching
Assist with audits, financial reporting, and general finance administration
Use Yooz to process up to 200 invoices weekly, contributing to a team total of 4,000 monthly
Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a busy finance or accounting support role
Strong understanding of bank and general ledger reconciliations
Full proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, and large datasets)
Experience with Sage Intacct, Proclaim, and Yooz (or similar systems)
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working across AR, AP, credit control, and reconciliation functions
Qualifications:
AAT Level 3 (or equivalent practical experience) required
AAT Level 4 or part-qualified CIMA / ACCA advantageous
A-levels or equivalent in Accounting, Business, or Mathematics required
Degree in a related discipline preferred
Additional Notes:
Excel proficiency is essential and will be assessed during screening
Experience managing financial data in a smaller company setting is highly beneficial
Portuguese language skills are a plus but not required
