We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our small but efficient finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in finance and accounting within a collaborative environment.
Duties
Manage the Accounts inbox, being the first point of contact for suppliers.
Management of the purchase ledger.
Daily management of cash requirements including intercompany transfers and drawdown of cash from our international account.
Preparing the monthly management accounts to group company.
Monthly preparation of fixed assets, IFRS lease postings, bank reconciliations, prepayments & accruals.
Maintain stock sheets with all customer drawings / usage, purchases & reconcile to supplier invoices.
Monthly stock reconciliations for all key suppliers.
Monthly processing of company credit & virtual card statements.
Weekly / monthly bad debt postings
Monthly review of expenditure postings, ensuring correct allocations to cost centres.
Weekly review of credit notes due to customers.
Active involvement in annual audit, corporation tax return & other ad hoc tasks.
Qualifications
A degree or qualification in finance is preferred or willingness to work towards an AAT or equivalent qualification.
Experience of working within a finance department preferred.
Strong numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with vlookups and pivot tables is advantageous).
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
