Finance Assistant
Start Date: Immediately

Purpose of the job:
The Finance Assistant is responsible for managing accounts payable & receivable, bank payments & reconciliations and associated administration tasks for Landcatch Natural Selection Ltd. You will report directly to the Finance Controller and work closely with departmental managers.

Organisational Context:
Located: Ormsary Estate, West Argyll, Scotland - United Kingdom
Hierarchical Reporting: Finance Controller, Landcatch Natural Selections Ltd.
Subordinates: No direct hierarchical reports.

Qualifications:
Education: AAT bookkeeping/foundation level or similar is desirable but not essential.
Experience: Experience in a similar finance role is desirable but not essential as training can be given.
Knowledge desirable: Experience of Microsoft Dynamics AX and TEAMS. Good working knowledge of
Microsoft 365 applications.

Key Accountabilities:

Operational Duties



Preparing purchase/sales invoices for approval. Processing sales/purchase documents. Making payments to vendors. Liaising with customers to improve cashflow. Preparing/submitting payroll. Occasional weekly cash reporting. Processing petty cash. Preparing & processing nominal journals. Assisting with month end closing procedures. Assisting with preparation of audit documentation. Assisting with preparation of VAT returns. Assisting with other annual finance-related administration tasks.

Control of budget, projects and capital expenditure



Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and interim forecasts. Assist with the effective management of agreed budgets/forecasts. Maintain accurate and up to date records of capital expenditure in AX.

Employee Relations



Maintain standards in accordance with company recruitment and training policy. Ensure employees are kept aware of the objectives of the Finance Assistant through good communication. Ensure that staff are trained and developed as required.

No overdue accounts payable
No overdue accounts receivable

Communication, Reporting, Employee Relations:
Reporting lines:

Ensure all housekeeping is kept at a high standard, including written and digital records. Ensure employees are kept aware of the objectives of the Finance Assistant through good communication. Immediately inform the Finance Controller or General Manager of any unusual deviations from plan. Often in communication with Finance Controller to arrange daily, weekly and monthly activities.
General:

Ensure that proper safety standards are maintained under the Health and Safety at Work Act, and in full accordance with company policy. Always maintain professionalism & confidentiality. Awareness of GDPR legislation and implications.
