Overall, Purpose:





The Finance Assistant plays a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial data across the Hubexo UKI Group, which includes Hubexo North, Hubexo South, and Hubexo Ireland. This role supports the monthly and annual financial reporting cycle, contributes to payroll accuracy, and works closely with Finance and HR teams to uphold strong financial governance.



This is a hands-on, detail-focused position, requiring strong organisation, accuracy, and confidentiality. It also offers the opportunity to support continuous process improvements and contribute to broader finance team goals.

Principal Job Responsibilities:





Support the preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts


Assist the Management Accountant with closing routines, including ledger updates and balance sheet reconciliations


Reconcile bank accounts across all legal entities within the UKI Group


Liaise with auditors and support audit and group reporting requests


Identify and suggest opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency


Coordinate the payroll process with third-party providers, ensuring timely submission and accuracy


Ensure payroll changes are correctly captured, recorded, and stored for audit purposes


Take ownership of HMRC filings including PAYE, P11Ds, and PSA


Maintain accurate financial and payroll records in accordance with internal controls and compliance standards


Deliver a prompt, high-quality service to internal stakeholders across Finance and HR


Carry out additional tasks as delegated by the Head of Reporting and Compliance, Management Accountant, or HR team

Qualifications





Demonstrable experience in finance or accounting roles



Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements



Familiarity with payroll processes and HMRC submissions



Proficiency in finance systems and Microsoft Excel



High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in financial reporting



Experience in handling confidential information with discretion



Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with cross-functional teams



Experience supporting multi-entity or group finance structures



Skills & Attributes





Advanced Excel and financial reporting tool proficiency



Bank reconciliation and balance sheet analysis



Knowledge of payroll systems, tax filings (PAYE, P11Ds), and audit preparation



Strong analytical and problem-solving ability



Highly organised and deadline-focused



Team player with a proactive and adaptable approach



Strong verbal and written communication



Professional, discreet, and trustworthy in handling sensitive data
