Finance Assistant
to join our growing care organisation and support the day-to-day financial operations that keep our services running smoothly.
About the Role
This is a newly created position, perfect for someone who enjoys variety and is eager to be involved across all aspects of finance. Working closely with our Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate bookkeeping, smooth financial workflows, and responsive support to our team.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing purchase and sales ledgers, including invoicing and payment runs
Conducting bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
Administering Spendesk and supporting monthly P&L reviews
Assisting with fixed asset tracking, payroll support, and year-end preparations
Acting as a first point of contact for finance queries across the team
Visiting care homes occasionally to embed processes and support audits
What We're Looking For
Essential:
AAT Level 3 (or equivalent)
Experience in finance support/bookkeeping (including A/P, A/R, and reconciliations)
Strong Excel skills and confident using accounting software (Xero preferred)
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Excellent communication skills and a discreet, professional manner
Desirable:
Familiarity with Spendesk or similar expense platforms
Exposure to payroll, P11Ds, or year-end accounts
Previous experience in a care or regulated environment
Based near Newmarket or Grantham for ease of travel
Working Arrangements
Fully remote with flexible hours across the week
Occasional travel to care homes or head office (travel expenses reimbursed)
All equipment and software provided
Support available for further professional training or development
