Job Description

The Finance Assistant role in the Public sector involves supporting the Accounting & Finance department with day-to-day financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while contributing to meaningful causes.
Full time role, 37 hours a week, during term time.

  • Assist with preparing financial reports and maintaining accurate records.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims in a timely manner.
  • Support the reconciliation of bank statements and financial accounts.
  • Help monitor budgets and track expenditure across projects.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial documentation.
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to financial queries.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

A successful Finance Assistant should have:
  • A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong transactional Finance skills set.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • The ability to work independently and within a team environment.
