As a Finance Assistant you will play a key role supporting our Finance and Housing operational teams by ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
You will process transaction accounting predominantly on purchase ledger transactions with support on other transactions where required.
Key Responsibilities will include
Processing of supplier invoices
Balancing of purchase ledgers on a monthly and annual basis
Regular purchase ledger statement reconciliation
Payment runs as required
Dealing with related queries from suppliers and colleagues
Ensuring that all the correct financial controls are adhered to and support all audit activities, monthly balance sheet recs where required
Posting rent receipts
Resolving rent posting queries with housing & income collection staff
Bank reconciliations, cash posting & supporting resolution of cash variances
Ensuring that all financial year end deadlines are met and audit files are submitted to auditors in a timely manner
Our ideal candidate will have
Significant experience working in a transactional finance role
Experience of producing accurate and timely information, posting and reconciling ledgers and accounts
Experience of working to a monthly finance timetable
Experience of communicating and working effectively with non-financial colleagues at all levels of a business
Experience of providing a high level of customer service
Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel
A practical common-sense approach
An ability to manage own time and work to strict deadlines
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving attitude.
Whilst not essential it would be advantageous if you have experience of rent accounting processes and procedures and are studying for a financial qualification
