Our Organisation:
Sidmouth Hospice at Home is the charity funded, specialist hospice service for the Sidmouth & Sid Valley community, providing end of life care to patients in the comfort of home. The charity fully funds a team of specialist Palliative Care Nurses, a range of support services, Wellbeing Centre, Information Hub, and small, dedicated charity team. Sidmouth Hospice at Home is currently celebrating 40 years of service to the Sid Valley.

Job Overview:
Our friendly and dedicated team is growing, and we are currently recruiting a part time Finance Assistant, to competently support the projects and financial administrative tasks related to the successful operation of the Charity, based in Sidford, Devon.

Duties:
Tasks will involve managing and maintaining the entry of data input into the Accounts systems alongside the Head of Corporate Services and Head of Community Engagement, recording, reconciling and processing payments from a variety of sources, following Gift Aid process, reconciling cash and receipt in Xero, processing of donations via cash, cheque, bank and online platforms, management of petty cash, purchase ledger and nominal ledger, payroll, VAT reclaim, compliance and governance and GDPR, along with quarterly reporting for our Trustee Board and other relevant administrative tasks.

Experience:

Candidates that have a proven background working in a financial environment where there has been a strong focus on the purchase ledger functions for a charity would be particularly suited to the position. Candidates will need to have experience of developing and following procedures and processes and have a high level of computer skills including Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word & Outlook, accounting software etc.) and should posses strong organisational, time management skills and effective interpersonal and communication skills. An AAT in Bookkeeping is appropriate for this role.

The successful candidate will also need to be professional, have a calm and empathetic manner, highly motivated and have the ability to work positively as part of a dedicated team.

This is a part time role of 20 hours per week, over 4 days. There is some flexibility with regard to working times, but with a need to meet core requirements.
