The Role
We're looking for an organised, detail-focused and proactive
Finance Assistant
to join our Finance team for a 12-month maternity cover. In this role, you'll manage and maintain the sales ledger, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, and support the Credit Controller in credit control activities and customer account management.
Key Responsibilities
Raise accurate and timely sales invoices aligned with delivery documentation and customer orders
Produce consolidated invoices for key accounts where required
Maintain up-to-date customer ledger accounts
Respond to customer queries professionally via email and phone
Support credit control activities by providing documentation and tracking overdue accounts
Liaise with internal teams to resolve order or delivery-related queries
Extract customer and invoice data for reporting purposes
Work collaboratively with the wider Finance team and other departments
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Experience working in a finance function
Processing sales invoices and managing customer queries
Comfortable using finance systems and managing data
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Desirable:
AAT qualification or part-qualified
GCSEs A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
