As our
Finance Assistant
, you'll contribute to the success of Brook Babes by supporting accurate and efficient financial operations that underpin our ability to provide exceptional childcare.
Role Purpose
You'll support the
Head of Finance
and wider team across all aspects of nursery finance and administration. Your work will ensure smooth, compliant, and timely financial processes that keep Brook Babes running effectively.
About the Role
You'll play a vital role in the day-to-day financial and administrative operations across our nursery group. Your responsibilities will include:
Basic bookkeeping duties
Issuing invoices and recording receipts
Responding to parent queries about payments and funding
Light credit control - following up on outstanding balances
Assisting families with Local Authority funding requirements
Tracking staff hours and processing timesheets
Supporting with payroll-related queries
General administrative and office support tasks
What we're Looking For
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Friendly, professional communication (written and verbal)
Basic bookkeeping or finance admin experience (training provided)
Confidence using spreadsheets and financial systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
(Excel, Word, Outlook)
Discretion and ability to handle confidential information
A proactive, flexible approach to supporting the wider team
Desirable (Not Essential)
Previous admin or finance experience
Understanding of nursery funding or early years settings
Experience with payroll or HR platforms
Familiarity with
Famly, Xero, HiBob, or Citation
systems
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.00-13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 32 per week
