Job Description


Gleeson Recruitment Group are working exclusively in partnership with a high-growth business in the Black Country, who are looking to appoint a highly experienced and dynamic Finance Director. This is an excellent opportunity for a Financial Controller to step up into their first Finance Director position.

As the Finance Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, with a strong focus on cash and treasury management. Your responsibilities will include managing stakeholders, implementing financial strategies, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Key responsibilities within the role:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to support the company\'s growth and financial objectives.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to provide accurate and timely financial information.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with international financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Develop and execute strategies to effectively manage the company\'s cash and treasury operations.
  • Monitor cash flows, liquidity requirements, and debt levels to ensure optimal utilization of funds.
  • Establish relationships with banks and financial institutions to negotiate favourable terms for banking services, loans, and credit facilities.
  • Develop and maintain cash management policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Annual Audit Management: Lead and oversee the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accurate financial reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial statements, management reports, and other financial information, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial objectives are aligned with business objectives.
  • Present financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors.
Key requirements of the role:
  • A recognised accountancy qualification; ACA, CIMA or ACCA.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of cash and treasury management principles, financial analysis, and financial regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and auditors.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-finance professionals.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing and dynamic environment is highly preferred.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to upholding ethical standards.
