Walsall Wood Tyre & Service Ltd, established in 2015, is one of the Midlands' fastest-growing independent vehicle service brands. We pride ourselves on operating with precision, professionalism, and a commitment to doing things properly. As we continue to scale, we are bringing our finance function fully in house and looking for a capable, confident Finance Executive to lead it.

The Role

This role is about full ownership of the financial function. You will be responsible for everything from daily payments and reconciliations through to VAT returns, payroll, pensions, and producing management accounts. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure our numbers are clean, our systems are tight, and our decision-making is backed by accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage payments in and out, including customers and suppliers Perform bank reconciliations and maintain up-to-date internal records Calculate and submit VAT returns to HMRC Manage payroll and pension contributions Produce monthly management accounts and cashflow reports Review and manage supplier and utility contracts to ensure value for money Work closely with directors to provide financial insights and support decision-making

Requirements

Proven experience in a finance role with end-to-end responsibility Strong understanding of VAT, payroll, and pensions processes Confident preparing and presenting management accounts Detail-focused, well organised, and trustworthy Proficient with Xero, Sage, or similar accounting platforms Proactive and commercially aware, with a desire to improve systems

Desirable

Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Exposure to supplier or contract management Background in a service-led, SME, or automotive business
