Job Purpose
The Finance Team Member will support escalated financial matters across Sanper Civils and Pipeline Engineering. The role includes oversight of CIS compliance, VAT submissions, HMRC communication, subcontractor management and wider financial operations. Working closely with the SCAPE Operations Team and Sanper Gorup Finance Director, you will help ensure the smooth and compliant running of all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
o Manage complex or recurring finance related matters across all group companies.
o Oversee subcontractor onboarding, CIS verification, submissions and reporting.
o Support and submit VAT returns, respond to HMRC queries and maintain compliance records.
o Handle payroll for subcontractors across the company.
o Carry out regular banking tasks including supplier payments, reconciliations and monitoring of SCAPE cash flow.
o Act as a link between the SCAPE General Manager and QS to ensure issues are communicated and addressed effectively.
o Identify and help resolve ongoing finance process issues, recommending improvements and preparing monthly reports for senior staff.
o Manage invoicing through client portals including Ariba and ensure all submissions are accurate and timely.
o Align internal cash flow forecasts with the live bank position and support ongoing cash management.
o Oversee insurance administration including annual renewals and ensuring subcontractor insurance documentation is current and compliant.
o Set up new supplier accounts, complete account forms and maintain supplier records.
o Work effectively with Monday.com for workflow, tracking and collaboration.
o Produce accurate and timely management accounts.
o Support the creation and implementation of appropriate finance structures for purchasing plant, vehicles and other capital items.
Required Skills and Experience
o Completion of AAT Business Finance Basics is desirable.
o Professional certifications such as CIMA or CFA are highly desirable.
o Solid experience in a finance role, preferably within construction or a multi entity group.
o Strong working knowledge of CIS, VAT, PAYE and HMRC compliance.
o Experience with payroll processing and banking transactions.
o Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
o Strong attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to work independently.
o Confident communicator and collaborative team player.
