Key ResponsibilitiesFinance Duties
Handling general accounts queries and daily banking tasks
Reconciling client accounts and managing all incoming client funds
Processing staff expenses, standing orders, and direct debits
Posting daily bank statements, BACS payments, and telegraphic transfers (TTs)
Completing client-to-office account transfers in compliance with SAR
Reviewing and processing completion packs and volume payments
Posting bills and maintaining purchase ledger
Issuing and receiving card payments, cheques, and handling telephone queries
Monitoring and reporting on client balances
Assisting with admin, ledger queries, and filing tasks
Supervisory Responsibilities
Monthly reporting to management/partners and preparing financial summaries
Supporting firm accountants with statutory compliance and reporting
Ensuring timely and efficient processing of monthly payroll
Supervising and mentoring a small team of legal cashiers
Ideal Candidate Profile
Previous experience supervising a finance team, preferably in a
legal environment
Strong understanding of
Solicitors Accounts Rules
Familiarity with legal
case management systems
Proficient in
Excel
and financial reporting tools
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
