Job Description

Inclusion Group is a leading health & social care landlord for vulnerable adults based in York , providing flexible , innovative housing solutions and life opportunities. Following recent establishment of a new subsidiary within the Group , providing facility management services ,, we are expanding our finance team , seeking an experienced Finance Manager to play a key role in delivering accurate management reporting, improving processes, and supporting the development of a new subsidiary company. Reporting to the Finance Director, and with 3 direct reports, you will oversee the day-to-day financial accounts payable operations. Salary: circa. 45,000

Key Relationships



External:

Auditors, banks, HMRC, suppliers, payroll providers, and vendors to ensure compliance, accurate reporting, and efficient financial operations. They will support the audit process, ensure statutory obligations are met, and maintain professional and timely communication.

Internal:

Executive team and wider staff team, residents, and the community

Job Overview



To ensure the delivery of timely, accurate management and statutory financial reporting for the commercial companies in the Group , and to oversee the day-to-day operation of the accounts payable team, maintaining robust processes and strong financial controls.

The Finance Manager is expected to act in a partner role between the finance function and the wider business, ensuring financial information is not only accurate and timely, but also clearly communicated and relevant to operational needs. This role is instrumental in translating financial data into practical insight that helps Group subsidiaries understand their cost drivers, control their budgets, and make informed decisions.

By building strong working relationships and fostering trust across teams, the Commercial Finance Manager role supports collaborative problem-solving--whether it's resolving invoice queries, refining costing processes, or supporting project-based financial analysis.

Specific Duties



Specific Duties although not limited to :

Management Accounts



In accordance with Inclusion policy and procedures: Complete monthly management accounts for Commercial Companies . Undertake reconciliations and upkeep of financial records to support the integrity of the balance sheet. Provide business partnering service to Executive Directors through monthly budget monitoring meetings. Lead on agreeing monthly Intercompany debtor/ creditor balances for Commercial Companies Working collaboratively with the wider finance team including management accountants,
publish the Inclusion Commercial companies' monthly management accounts.

Annual Budget preparation ( Commercial Companies ) working collaboratively with the wider finance team. Annual production ten-year Business Plans commercial companies Performing annual stress testing analysis of business plans Key Internal & External audit contact Assist with managing the organisations financial accounting and reporting systems.

Managing Finance Officers



Manage, support & mentor finance officers, undertake regular 1-1 meetings and annual appraisals. Manage the financial relationship with suppliers ensuring timely settlement of liabilities. Manage the process of issuing sales invoices to maximise income.

Support Board of Directors



Commercial Company Financial Board Reports Attend Commercial Companies Board Meetings

Health and Safety

Customer Service



Provide a customer-focused service ensuring service delivery is consistent with target response times. Ensure that all tenants and residents contacting Inclusion on revenue or associated housing management issues receive an efficient response to their enquiry. Provide prompt and efficient responses to informal customer complaints about revenue management issues, dealing effectively with stage one complaints.

Performance Management & Data Analysis



Specify, develop, and run new reports and update existing ones in a variety of formats and software. To analyse income and revenue performance management information and use data to drive improvement and contribute to proposals for remedial action; and To help colleagues use reports and to develop and monitor performance targets.

Other Duties



Manage personal workload and responding to changing priorities and personal objectives. Keep up to date with key legislative and policy changes within the sector. Occasionally attend evening meetings some of which may be away from the office. Implement and promote Inclusion's Equality & Diversity Policy and Health & Safety Policy and related procedures. Any other related duties as assigned by the Finance Director that are commensurate with the general level of responsibility of this post. PERSON SPECIFICATION



Knowledge & Experience



1.

Experience of:

Production of monthly management accounts

Working in a finance department with staffing responsibility

2.

Evidence of training and continuing professional development

3.

Experience of using MS Reporting Services

4.

Experience of producing financial & performance data

5.

Excellent numeracy

6.

Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel

7.

Ability to analyse and understand complex problems and information and help develop appropriate solutions that command support.

8.

Able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) to a range of audiences and influence them (including summarising complex issues simply)

Able to plan, organise and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines and targets

Qualifications



Qualified Accountant with a recognised UK Accountancy Body.
