The Role

Job Title: Finance Manager



REPORTS TO: Financial Controller

Base Location: Edinburgh



Salary: up to 55,000 depending on skills and experience




The Finance Manager will work closely with the Finance Controller (Operations) and the wider Finance Team to support the financial management and reporting of Windward Energys portfolio of hydrogen energy storage sites and its continued growth. They will also be responsible for overseeing the Groups commercial investment property portfolio and all requisite financial reporting and transactional processing.


This role will be heavily involved in business / stakeholder partnering, budgeting and control and production of management financial information.


This is a position in the finance structure that will be highly visible across the business and will play a key role supporting the development of the existing portfolio of hydrogen sites and further growth opportunities.


You will hold a professional accounting qualification, be technically astute and be comfortable working within a fast paced, highly entrepreneurial environment, dealing with multiple stakeholders.


Main Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management reporting with insightful financial analysis and commentary for stakeholders Business partnering with the hydrogen team and Windward Global senior management Manage budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis, comparison and benchmarking Review actual spend against budget analysing variances by cost category and understanding underlying drivers of variances Support project analysis and ad-hoc requests Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the hydrogen sites and property companies supporting the Accounts Executives Manage the financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies along with investor and regulatory requirements Input and support board pack slide packs and presentations Identify and help implement system improvements and efficiencies Support the year end audit process Production of statutory accounts Contribute to the development and administration of a robust internal financial control environment Support business growth opportunities (organic and potential M&A)

Experience & Qualifications

Fully qualified Accountant (CA/ ACA / ACCA / CIMA) Experience in working with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Experience of financial month end close procedures and reporting Strong understanding of financial systems
