The Company
An innovative service business operating in a relatively young and growing industry sector, with a global footprint and the European subsidiary of an internationally listed parent.

The Role
A newly created position reporting to and supported by the Financial Controller, who is already on their own path towards FD level and needing a successor - this succession plan is already in place and is a fundamental element in the selection of the right person.
Duties will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, KPI\'s including balance sheet reconciliation to Trial Balance
  • Build, monitor, improve relevant KPIs for weekly and monthly reporting
  • Overseeing the Middle East accounting functions, including billing and payroll to ensure accurate information is available for weekly and monthly reporting and the integration into the UK systems
  • Responsible for reconciling data across various systems and ensuring that annuity revenue is billed accurately and on time. This includes accounting for revenue recognition and the use of accurate controls
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable and approve workflows timely
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of accurate prepayments and accruals within the business
  • Update, prepare, process and reconcile month-end journal entries for balance sheets and other accounts and assist in the preparation of the year end accounts for audits
  • Responsible for the processing Service Partner invoices and liaising with other departments to resolve queries
  • Participate in all aspects of continuous improvement to processes and ensure proper internal controls are developed based on company procedures
  • Assist with responses to both Internal and External Auditors to ensure compliance with SOX and statutory regulations.
  • Assist with tax notices, registrations and monthly business surveys conducted by ONS
Given the succession planning in place it is expected that this role will continually evolve and grow.

The Person
  • Fully qualified (ACA or ACCA), practice trained with industry experience, a strong academic background and solid technical knowledge
  • Strong Excel and systems skills (experience of migrating an ERP system and/or knowledge of Microsoft D365 would be a big bonus!)
  • Comfortable with volume, complex data, and commercially aware
  • Great attitude - driven by doing a great job, driving improvements and working collaboratively to achieve collective goals
  • Ambitious and motivated to develop to FC level and beyond, good leadership qualities
Salary to \xc2\xa365k rising to \xc2\xa370k upon promotion to Financial Controller. Hybrid working available (up to 40% WFH), 25 days annual leave, Pension (matched to 7.5%)
