I am working on an exclusive opportunity for a scale up publishing business who are now looking for a Finance Manager to join as part of an exciting growth period and voted as one of the Sunday Time best places to work for.

As the Finance Manager, you will provide support and prepare accurate financial reports across the business, including monthly/quarterly and annual financial statements. You will help to improve policies and processes, ensuring compliance is met with relevant accounting standards as well as be the key point of contact for external auditors.

You will help to analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts whilst identifying opportunities for cost saving as well as provide insight for strategic decision making, working closely with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly/quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance is met with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements and be the key point of contact for external auditors
  • Manage the day-to-day finance operation, including cash flow management, accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers
  • Define policies in line with FRS 102, IFRS 15 and contract accounting
  • Presenting gap analysis for the current systems in place and recommend system changes to close the gaps as well as working with internal teams to execute
  • Define, build and automate reporting processes to produce results in line with accounting policies
  • Preparing year-end processes and deliverable to meet with audit requirements
About you:
  • ACA qualified with 1-3 years or industry experience in a reporting role
  • Experience working in a service or product based business and understand revenue recognition is highly desirable
  • Experience in implementing controls, processes and improving the finance function
  • Excellent communication skills, motivated and ambitious
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Team player who thrives in working in a collaborative and autonomous environment
