Working as part of the regional EMEA finance team, be responsible for providing commercial, business development and financial planning support to the EMEA category teams.

Responsible for working with the Finance Director and Senior Finance Manager in their roles as business partners to the business lead and their regional category Directors.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Responsible for acting as commercial finance partner to the relevant category Directors. Provide support to the team to best financially manage day-to-day relationships with key licensees
  • Provide commercial finance support for all contract renewal negotiations, new business pitches and contractual issues across all relevant categories
  • Attend and actively contribute to weekly contract renewal and new business calls with Contract Administration Team (CMC) and legal. Act as a conduit between the category team and CMC and legal to ensure that contracts are executed in a timely and compliant manner
  • Work with the Finance Director and Senior Finance Manager to shape the business strategy; challenging business norms, offering creative solutions to business obstacles; working on commercial projects such as licensee optimisation; value chain analysis and royalty rate increases
  • In conjunction with Finance Director and Senior Finance Manager, identify and develop key growth areas for the business as well as support our category team with growth initiatives to develop the core property business
  • Produce and maintain market share reports, relevant benchmarks; work with commercial Finance Director and business lead to set KPIs for the business
  • Support with the preparation of business presentations and attend and present as required
  • Responsible for managing the quarterly close process and accountable for ownership of the regional operating expense budget. Ensure that all revenue is accrued on a quarterly basis, other revenue is recognised in a timely manner and that the regional operating expenses come in within budget
  • Lead the process for the quarterly operational calls with the markets by ensuring the calls and relevant documents are set up in a timely manner. Highlight key business opportunities and areas of risk to the regional team in advance of the calls. Ensure that operational points discussed are followed up on
  • Manage and deliver other ad hoc projects

  • Champion and inspire a \xe2\x80\x98one team\xe2\x80\x99 approach within EMEA finance. Build and maintain a network amongst the finance leadership community across lines of business and markets, sharing knowledge and best practices for a unified approach
  • Maintain an strong level of awareness and understanding of key developments in the relevant industries, retailers and licensees
  • Share knowledge effectively across the function to facilitate good financial management and support the development of others

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required
  • Degree-level education in a related field or equivalent work experience and accounting qualification (CIMA or ACA), essential
  • Proven experience of building effective relationships and managing stakeholders within a large, multi-national, matrix organisation, essential
  • Previous experience in working in a consumer products organisation within retail / licensing sector, with strategy/business planning background
  • Experience of managing multiple, varied stakeholders with, at times, conflicting requirements
  • Proven experience of an equivalent finance role, supporting commercial teams within relevant category (softlines/hardlines/FMCG/other retail category)
  • Demonstrable track record of providing insightful, timely and responsive commercial support to a business partner at manager level
