Overview

We are looking for an all-round Finance Manager with a solid finance background. Not only will you be technically sound, you will be self-motivated with strong analytical skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.

Purpose of the Role

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the Finance Department.

You will take ownership of the regular timetable of standard financial activity ensuring the production of the monthly management accounts, quarterly financial reporting and annual statutory accounts happens within the prescribed timetables.

You will collate, interpret and explain variances/trends for various finance reports.

Reporting to Head of Finance and Commercial Services

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Monthly management account preparation including

  • Stock valuation and stock related reconciliations
  • Month end foreign currency revaluation
  • Preparation and ownership of monthly balance sheet workfile
  • Monthly calculation of sales commission/rebates for staff and external agents
  • Ownership of prepayments and accruals schedules including monthly journals
  • European payroll journals
  • Fixed Asset Register
  • Be active part in evaluating project and product margin. Ability to perform both accounting and finance control.
Reporting
  • Global weekly sales reporting
  • Asia weekly sales reporting
Additional Activities
  • Supervision of team members
  • Submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Intercompany related transactions
  • Maintenance of R&D and R&M schedules for external tax consultant
  • Preparation & submission of Office of National Statistics and other external agencies as required
  • Audit files for year-end audit
Competencies:
  • Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines
  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • 4-5 years of experience of working in a Finance environment within an SME
