An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious finance professional looking to progress their experience within a FTSE listed construction business with a track record of delivering high profile infrastructure projects.


This is a critical role within the R2R function that involves collecting, processing, validating and presenting accurate financial data. Whilst also providing strategic, financial and operational feedback on the performance of the company to senior management.


The role will be involved in assisting in the set up and development of the R2R processes, supporting the Senior Finance Manager & providing delivery of day-to-day finance activities.


The role includes exposure to senior management of the group and other central finance functions, providing an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your ability for further advancement.

You will provide financial information to a broad range of business unit owners & functional areas supporting them to understand their reported financial actuals, identifying balance sheet risks and opportunities.


It is essential that you can convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders at a senior level.

The primary responsibilities of this role are:

Team management & development of 3 direct reports Management of the first line reviews of the divisional business unit results, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the financial results Manage the completed contracts close out process to include the clear down of the Balance sheet, cash, legal obligations, sub accounts and returns. Management of the weekly & monthly payroll processes, management of the payroll data, ensuring all reconciliations are accurate and well supported by working with the in-house payroll team. Management of the HS2 Current Account ensuring all costs charged to the client are per the contract. Management of other specified Current Accounts ensuring all costs charged to the client are per the contract. Assist and review in the balance sheet reconciliations for the projects and establishing a process that will support the project control, ensuring any adjustments are rectified on a timely basis. Adding assistance where necessary to resolve issues. Management of all recharges ensuring the correct BU's have been impacted. Work with procurement on any changes/amendments/corrections required for the data are supplied. Management and review of the intercompany recharges ensuring the intercompany matrix all matches, any discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely fashion. Management of the work winning Bid accruals Management of the CITB Levy and ECITB Management and review of sweep journals, moving costs from overheads to the appropriate cost of sales code. Monitoring efficiency, reporting targets and KPI's to drive continuous improvement. Support Ad-hoc projects including system developments where necessary.

Qualifications

Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with +5 years' experience

Experience

Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar finance systems role. Management, development and co-ordination of small teams essential. Proven experience of process and systems optimisation. Collaboration with stakeholders and identifying financial anomalies Working with Oracle Enterprise One, or similar ERP system desirable.

Excellent communication skills, with confidence to present to senior stakeholders. Ability to think strategically, challenge current processes and introduce improvements.
