About New College Group (NCG)



New College Group (NCG) is a specialist English language college providing courses to Adults and Young Learners who travel to the UK to learn English. NCG was established in 2011 and has year-round schools in Manchester and Liverpool. We also run summer schools for our younger students.

This role is based at our Manchester City Centre office, close to Piccadilly Gardens. We are offering a hybrid role where you'll be in the Manchester office for 3 days a week, with the option to work 2 days from home.

The Role



We are seeking a personable, hands-on, and proactive

Finance Manager

to oversee the day-to-day finance operations of the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take ownership of financial processes, support strategic decision-making, and ensure the smooth running of accounting functions.

Key Duties



Managing and maintaining accurate financial records. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports. Monitoring expenditure across multiple stakeholders and departments. Supporting revenue and cost forecasting. Assisting with treasury and cash flow management. Coordinating the year-end process and supporting external auditors. Overseeing monthly payroll. Supervising and developing a small finance team, including appraisals and training needs. Acting as a point of contact for banks, HMRC, and external accountants.

Responsibilities



Managing day-to-day finance processes for NCG. Preparing accurate and timely financial statements. Monitoring and improving internal controls. Supporting the budgeting process and cost control initiatives. Assisting in the development of financial plans that align with organisational goals. Providing analysis and insights to aid decision-making.

Requirements



Part Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE considered. Proven experience in finance management or a supervisory finance role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals. Proficiency in Xero accounting software. Payroll experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead and motivate a small team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
