Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to cover maternity leave, playing a crucial role in managing the financial operations that support our mission. You will work closely with the Finance Director and have significant visibility within the senior leadership team, ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate timely and accurate payments for foster parents who are self-employed including ensuring payments are accurate and made on time.
Manage monthly staff payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
Liaise with local authorities regarding funding, invoicing, and financial agreements.
Provides support for the wider business on the day to day operations
Oversee debt collection processes, maintaining clear communication with external parties to resolve outstanding balances.
Production and Review of Monthly Management Accounts
Responsibility for preparing and presenting financial reports to the Finance Director, providing insights to support strategic decisions.
Maintain and enhance financial controls, supporting accurate financial record-keeping and reporting.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and organisational policies.
Use Xero to manage financial transactions and reporting.
Management of Senior Finance Assistant
Support the finance team in delivering accurate financial information to stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in a finance management role, ideally within the fostering or social care sector (desirable but not essential).
Proficiency with accounting software, such as Xero or equivalent, with a strong understanding of financial reporting.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience in liaising with external organisations, including local authorities, is highly advantageous.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
