Our firm, a successful, fun and ambitious executive search firm, is looking to hire an equally ambitious and motivated new team member to join on a fixed term basis.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance & Operations Manager to join our team for a maternity cover position. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial and operational elements of the business. This position requires strong leadership abilities and a comprehensive understanding of accounting processes and operational project management.
The role will require someone with great communication skills, a warm personality combined with a high level of drive and tenacity. As an integral member of the team, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the business and supervise the Junior Team Assistant and Office Manager. Main Duties to include but not limited to:
Finance:
Lead the finance department, providing guidance and support to the Managing Director.
Oversee financial accounting processes, including accounts payable and receivable.
Develop and implement financial management strategies to enhance cost control and improve profitability.
Prepare accurate financial reports and forecasts to assist in strategic planning.
Manage operational costs and control general company expenditure.
Bookkeeping; keeping Xero up to date on reconciliations and financial transactions.
Working with our accountants collating information for VAT returns and End of Year Procedures.
Monthly and quarterly reports on Partner revenue generation and working with our Managing Partner to confirm quarterly and annual bonus'.
Keeping the company up to date on revenue generated per month and per quarter to keep on track for annual company targets.
Operations:
Ensure all processes, procedures and platforms are performing correctly. This ensure the wider team are able to execute their roles effectively.
Improve and strategize for the business, executing new contracts (supplier and client), keeping visibility on profitability and process improvement.
Be the go-to problem solver, providing responsive support to all team members.
Manage the Junior Team Assistant and work with the Office Manager to ensure the office is running smoothly.
Running our HR Function; managing absence, annual leave, new starters and escalations, employee contracts.
Working with our Head of Marketing on various projects.
Purchasing of office equipment and ad hoc items.
Maintain strong relationships with our clients and vendors, making sure we are delivering the best possible service whilst being cost effective.
Managing of client contracts and the business' T&Cs.
Skills
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a department & small team effectively.
Strong knowledge of financial services, including financial accounting principles and practices.
Solid foundation in financial management techniques, particularly in cost control measures.
Proficient in accounts payable processes and Xero.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail in financial planning activities.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex financial and operational information clearly.
The right candidate will have exceptional organisation skills and work methodically in their approach - they will be the 'Fixer of Everything' and be proactive in finding a solution for any issue. They will take pride in their work and enjoy making the most of this role.
Have advanced knowledge of MS Office, in particular Outlook, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with data entry preferred, but not essential.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to be driven and excel working well under pressure. They will have a positive can-do attitude, be mature, energetic, resilient, and articulate.
