A C Leigh are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Department Manager to join our leadership team.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and strategic guidance to support continued business growth. This is a key position within the organisation, working closely with senior management across our branches.
You will be responsible for leading a small finance team, streamlining financial processes, managing budgets, and maintaining regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, commercially minded, and have a strong background in financial management within a multi-site environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the finance function across all A C Leigh branches.
Prepare and present monthly management accounts, forecasts, and annual budgets.
Monitor cash flow, manage company banking and oversee credit control.
Ensure all statutory reporting and tax submissions are accurate and submitted on time (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, etc).
Provide financial analysis to support business decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
Oversee payroll processing and liaise with HR to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Develop and implement internal financial controls and ensure adherence to company policies.
Manage external relationships with accountants, auditors, HMRC, and financial institutions.
Continually review and improve finance systems and processes to increase efficiency.
Support the leadership team with financial planning, risk management, and strategic decision-making.

Skills and Experience Required:
Proven experience in a senior finance or management accounting role.
Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
High level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Experience managing a finance team and mentoring staff.
Commercially aware with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
