We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our UK finance team. This pivotal role will oversee key financial processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and contributing to the overall financial health of the business. You will play a vital role in month-end close, statutory compliance, and internal reporting, with ownership of several critical finance functions.

What you'll do ...

Prepare and review monthly and year-end balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolution of variances. Provide insightful commentary on monthly P&L movements, including assessment and posting of accruals. Own and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring timely and accurate capitalisation, disposals, and depreciation. Manage amortisation and depreciation postings, including key account calculations and journal entries. Own accounting for intangible assets, ensuring appropriate classification and treatment in line with UK GAAP and internal policies. Conduct quarterly VAT reviews, ensuring compliance and accuracy across UK operations. Track and account for contract revenue, including recognition of deferred and accrued income where applicable. Support the UK entity with statutory audit requirements, including preparation and delivery of audit schedules and responses. Respond to R&D tax credit queries, including data preparation and liaison with tax advisors. Process monthly payroll journals, reconciling payroll costs and tracking FTE movements across cost centres.

What you'll need...

Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with post-qualification experience. Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly UK GAAP and FRS 102. Experience in managing end-to-end financial close processes. Confident in liaising with auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders. Strong Excel skills and experience working with finance systems (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, or similar). High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

It would be great if you have...

Experience in preparing or supporting R&D tax credit claims. Familiarity with revenue recognition in contract-based businesses. Experience working in a fast-paced or scaling environment.
