About the Role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations, reporting directly to the Bursar. You will be responsible for managing budgets, preparing management accounts, cash flow and payroll, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role also involves leading a small team and providing financial insight to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Produce monthly management accounts, budgets, cash flow, and financial forecasts. Oversee payroll, fee billing, VAT, Gift Aid, and HMRC returns. Manage year-end accounts and liaise with auditors. Line manage two finance staff. Ensure financial policies and procedures are followed. Provide analysis and recommendations to senior leadership. Deputise for the Bursar when required.

About You

AAT qualified (or equivalent) - fully qualified accountant desirable. Strong experience in finance/accountancy roles, including payroll, VAT, and management accounts. High IT literacy (MS Office, accounting systems). Excellent communication and organisational skills. Flexible, accurate, and detail-oriented with a positive attitude.
