We're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for someone who can help us manage our day-to-day operations behind the scenes while sharing our story online.
Role Overview
This is a unique hybrid role combining
finance administration
and
marketing coordination
. You'll be the organisational heart of the business, keeping our books tidy, supporting the Managing Director with cash handling and supplier payments, and helping grow our visibility online and in the local community.
You'll work closely with our small but passionate team, supporting everything from cash-ups to content creation, helping Moorside become a recognised name across Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Administration (approx. 60%)
Daily reconciliation of till and online sales (Shopify / POS)
Prepare weekly cash-up reports and upload to SharePoint
Manage invoices, receipts, and supplier accounts (including credit terms)
Support preparation of monthly management accounts and VAT submissions
Liaise with our accountant for quarterly reviews
Maintain organised digital records of transactions and documents
Process staff expenses and monitor petty cash
Marketing & Community Engagement (approx. 40%)
Create and schedule engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
Capture in-store activity, new products, and events for social media
Support the launch of local events (e.g., open days, charity drives, Tiny Explorers Club activities)
Work with the Managing Director to design promotions and seasonal campaigns
Maintain our brand tone of voice - approachable, Yorkshire heritage, community-driven
Track social media performance and report on engagement growth
Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience in finance or administrative support
Confident using Excel, Xero (or similar accounting software), and cloud platforms like SharePoint
Strong organisational and multitasking skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
Strong written communication and creative storytelling ability
Comfortable using social media tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok, Canva, etc.)
Desirable
Retail or small business experience
Experience in e-commerce or Shopify
Basic graphic design or video editing skills
Familiarity with North Yorkshire / rural community audiences

Creative eye and proactive mindset - always looking for ways to improve visibility or efficiency
