Job Description

Overall Purpose



To support the Head of Finance and Business Development in delivering effective financial and business operations at Corrymeela, ensuring accurate financial management, compliance, reporting, and contributing to the organisation's overall efficiency and sustainability.

Key Tasks



Finance Management



Ensure accuracy of day-to-day financial records including income/payments, purchases, and nominal ledger transactions. Manage the month end close process including journal preparation, debtors and creditors review and balance sheet reconciliations. Dealing with finance-related queries in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure that all financial policies, internal control measures and procedures are implemented. Assist with the preparation of annual budget, supporting the Senior Management Team with support and advice to collate their departmental budgets. Maintain and update fixed asset register, completing fixed asset audits as necessary. Assist in the preparation for and facilitation of all audits including external audit and ad-hoc funder audits and inspections.

Reporting



Produce monthly management accounts, forecasting and associated reports for the Senior Management Team. Interpret and communicate financial information to non-financial managers. Assist with other KPI and ad-hoc analysis as required.

Grants & Fund Management



Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring appropriate allocation and reporting Prepare financial reports for funders and gathering of documentation as per the funder requirements to support the return, ensuring submission on a timely basis. Support funding applications with financial data and costings for budget proposals. Support the Head of Programme and Programme Managers with grant funding agreement queries and ad-hoc funder verification and compliance audits.

Payroll



Process and prepare payments for salaries and record and update any monthly sickness/ annual leave entitlement. Process salary journals. Ensure all statutory reporting (including monthly and year end reports to HMRC and pension contributions) is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with official requirements.

Other



Deputise in the absence of Head of Finance & Business Development Work in close liaison with the Head of Finance and Business Development to ensure the effective and efficient daily operation of the finance department and undertake ad hoc assignments as and when required. To take part in training and performance management procedures. Additional duties as may be reasonably required by the Company and notified to you from time to time. Provide mentoring and guidance to a team of Accounts Assistants where required. Be familiar with the Corrymeela Community Charter.
