We have an exciting opportunity for a new Finance officer, to join our growing practice in the beautiful city of Bath.
We have two exceptional sites: Rush Hill: A purpose-built, modern premises on Baths south side and Weston: A charming, converted Georgian house opposite the Royal United Hospital.
Job Summary:
The post-holder will ensure that the practice finances, records, accounts and reports are kept up-to-date and administered efficiently.
Finance Responsibilities:
Income and Expenditure Management:
Process and maintain accurate records of all income and expenditure.
Reconcile all bank accounts and petty cash monthly using Xero.
Invoice and Payment Reconciliation:
Record and reconcile all invoices and credits in Xero.
Match payments with PCSE remittance statements and ICS/NHSE transactions.
Collaborate with the Data Quality Lead to ensure all payments due via CQRS and monthly/quarterly NHSE/ICB returns are received.
Analyse performance against previous years and report findings to partners to optimize income.
Prescriptions and Claims Management:
Work with the Prescriptions Lead to ensure monthly FP34D claims align with drug payments received.
Process claims related to Locally Administered Reimbursable Contraception (LARC) and Locally Commissioned Services.
Locum Payments and Financial Administration:
Process monthly locum payments and manage Locum A forms.
Oversee practice petty cash, including weekly reconciliation of payments received at Reception, at both sites.
Raise and process payment for all other invoices, ensuring close coordination with purchasing.
End-of-Year and Accounts Receivable:
Prepare end-of-year accounts as required by the practice's accountants.
Follow up on outstanding invoices from insurance companies, solicitors, and patients for medical examinations or other services.
Credit Card and Room Rental Management:
Manage the practice's credit card, verifying monthly expenditures against statements.
Handle room rental invoicing and ensure timely payment collection.
Financial Reporting and Issue Escalation:
Keep the Practice Manager informed of missing payments or any discrepancies in expected income.
Provide financial insights and raise concerns about reduced income where applicable.
Ad Hoc Financial Duties:
Address any additional finance-related tasks as required to support the smooth running of the practice.
Assist with sensitive or confidential tasks on behalf of the Partners, maintaining the highest level of discretion.
Payroll:
Prepare monthly spreadsheet to send to external payroll agency

In the performance of the duties outlined in this , the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers.
