Location: Scottish Borders (office is based in Duns)
Salary & Benefits: 31,200 full-time equivalent (FTE 37.5 Hrs), paid pro rata for 10 hours per week, plus holiday and pension contributions.
Contracted Hours: 10 hours per week - precise timing of the hours is flexible depending on the availability of the candidate.
Contract Duration: 1 year with a view to further extensions once funding has been secured.
Reports to: Project Manager.
Work location: Hybrid - a mix of remote and office-based work.

We are a small charity, operating across the Scottish Borders, to provide evidence based parenting support through Care to the Family (www.careforthefamily.org) approved courses, 1:1 support, and drop-ins. We work with local schools and professional services to provide support to all parents and carers, and to assist them in building up their own network of support.

Role Description
Sitting at the heart of a small team, the Finance Administrator plays a vital role in supporting colleagues and charities by ensuring that the administration of grant making runs smoothly. Roles include:
New grant application research
Grant application writing
Grant application finances preparation
Funding reports (interim and final) - financials
Sponsorship, fundraising and donations development
Monthly bookkeeping in Xero - entering all expenses and income with careful categorisation
Monthly finance reporting for the Project Manager and board. Including developing systems for reporting.
Managing Payroll using MoneySoft Payroll Manager software.
Receiving and creating payments for suppliers.
Banking.
Creating and managing cash flow forecasts.
Supporting treasurer with information for year-end accounts.
Preparing financial papers for board and AGM meetings.
Tracking spending and reporting for restricted charitable funds.
Managing pension contributions to NEST pensions.
Managing HMRC liability account and payments.
Any other administrative tasks as required.
Experience
Restricted charitable funds.
Bookkeeping with Xero software.
Payroll with MoneySoft.
This person's main focus will be on ensuring the administration and financial systems across the charity are running smoothly, efficiently and accurately. Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have experience in administration and finance, within the charity or corporate sector. We are seeking a highly organised and collaborative individual with excellent attention to detail. This person will have a naturally helpful and friendly approach and understand the importance of consistently applied systems and processes. A strong team player, this person will also be able to see the bigger picture and will understand how and why a solid administration foundation is essential to the smooth running of a charity.
This role represents a great opportunity for the right person to provide strong and consistently high levels of administrative support to our small and passionate team with a clear focus on supporting families in our local area.
