Sandwich Town Council seeks a highly motivated and proactive individual for the position of Responsible Finance Officer.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the council and charities under the direction of the Town Clerk.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organisational, communication, and administrative skills. We are seeking an individual who possesses enthusiasm, ambition and a strong commitment to this important role. Applicants should meet the following criteria:
A recognised financial qualification, Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or similar.
Knowledge of Payroll.
Knowledge in AdvantEdge accounting software.
Knowledge of the local government statutory framework.
Sandwich is one of the five original cinque ports and has been described as the most
complete medieval town in England, with a population of around 5,000 and a current
precept of 330,000, and ownership and oversight of significant assets and charitable funds that provide a further 300,000 in annual income.
The Town is situated close to the Kent coast and surrounded by several picturesque
villages and gentle countryside. The Town Council has sixteen members of council and nine members of staff serving an active and involved electorate.
