The Opportunity:



The Centre for Cardiovascular Science (CVS) is seeking two dynamic and highly motivated individuals to join our team as Finance Officers on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave and to accomplish a time-limited activity. The successful candidates will temporarily assume responsibilities for key projects and day-to-day operations as we currently navigate through a period of strategic change to enhance our services and streamline our operations therefore applications would be welcome as a secondment opportunity or on a fixed term nature.


These posts are full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.



Your skills and attributes for success:



A relevant vocational qualification and relevant work experience OR educated to at least Highers level or equivalent, with significant financial or management accounting experience working in a busy accounts office environment. Sound understanding of research grants and familiarity with funder requirements as the post holder is expected to provide advice and guidance to PIs on use of their funding, ensuring that University procedures are followed. IT skills including a high level of competence in use of spreadsheets (Excel) and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word. Able and willing to learn to use new software and tools on own initiative as needed.
