Specific role purpose:
The Finance Officer is responsible for providing financial data preparation and supporting the Finance Manager and Head of Finance.
The Finance Officer is responsible for ensuring effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
Specific role responsibilities:
As a Lisieux Trust employee there is a responsibility to protect and safeguard vulnerable people (children and adults). Demonstrating an awareness of child and adult protection procedures and who to contact within Lisieux Trust for further guidance.
To liaise with the Finance Manager; accordingly, including attending supervisions and appraisals.
To keep electronic diaries up to date and deal with all email communication.
To ensure effective collection of customer debts and immediately report any persistent and ongoing 'bad debtors' to the Finance Manager/Head of Finance.
To carry out the purchase ordering for Lisieux Trust, ensuring cost effective management, delivery and receipt.
To maintain financial filing systems - manual and electronic - ensuring they are up to date and stored in line with Data Protection.
To carry out weekly banking activities.
Home Visit Allowance (HVA) Claims.
Spreadsheet Analysis
Maintenance of Rent Statements.
Prepare manual cheques as and when required.
To ensure petty cash is regularly checked and balanced.
Provide support to service managers on financial issues.
Support the Finance Manager with Month End data.
Performance standards:
Manage and report to the Finance Manager/Chief Executive Officer any legitimate complaints, compliments and suggestions, as appropriate.
Employees are supported to meet the standards laid down in Lisieux Trust Employee Handbook and to follow all Lisieux Trust policies and procedures, within the Operations Manual.
To complete their own Timesheet accurately in accordance with Lisieux Trust's Timesheet Policy.
Acts as a role model for all employees.
Identifying and feeding back to the Finance Manager good practice and poor practice, abuse or neglect; in line with Lisieux Trust Abuse, Safeguarding and Whistleblowing Policies and Procedures.
The Finance Officer must undertake prescribed mandatory and supplementary training, as directed.

Essential:
The Finance Officer must have previous finance experience.
Be able to organise and prioritise own workload, ensuring attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Be computer literate in relation to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Sage, Electronic Diary Management.
To communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Reliable and punctual.
Finance Officer may be required to carry out manual handling duties, in accordance and compliance with Manual Handling Operating Regulations
Must be able to use own initiative and work as part of a team.
Desirable:
Understanding of funding and contract obligations for both Charities and Social Care and Health.
Ability to positively adapt to changing priorities.
To work on own initiative.
Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintaining general ledgers.
Excellent interpersonal skills, professional, confident and warm personality.
Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
The Finance Officer should have a willingness to undertake appropriate training, e.g. Disability Awareness, Equal Opportunities and any other relevant training.
Hours of work and flexibility:
The role will be part time and days of work will be discussed at Interview. You must have flexible approach to working hours.
The Finance Officer may be required to undertake other duties appropriate to your post and hours of work or work at other premises and locations, but we will always discuss this with you first. We may also revise or change this as and when the need may arise.
