: 26,403 (pro rata) to start from January 2026.

The post will be 12 hours per week, term time plus two weeks (for Inset, training, administration and meetings). The hours of work will be discussed at interview and can be flexible. Discounted childcare for 0-5 year-olds available.
The Governing Body of Frizington Nursery & Pre-School are seeking to appoint a highly committed and efficient Finance Officer to join our busy, happy school, providing administrative support to the management of the school and to work as part of our friendly team. It is an exciting time at Frizington Nursery & Pre-School as we continue to grow and expand our school and you will have the full support from the Senior Leadership Team to learn and develop in this role.
The Finance Officer will:
Have experience of working in a finance and administrative role. Prior experience of working within a school environment is preferable, but full training will be given
Support the Business Manager with financial admin procedures including weekly/ monthly account reconciliation, invoice processing and banking
Ensure budgetary information is up to date and produce a budget report for the Governing Body once per term or as and when requested by the Senior Leadership Team/ Chair of Governors
Have excellent skills in oral & written communication and numeracy (minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualifications)
Be organised, efficient and enjoy working in a team, relating well to both adults and young children
Have excellent ICT skills and familiarity with Microsoft packages. Experience of dealing with a school information management system would be an advantage
Be friendly and approachable, dealing with enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone and via email
Support the school with any Business Support staff absences by agreeing to work overtime
Support the Headteacher and Business Manager with administrative tasks
