Position: Finance Officer
Location: London/hybrid
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours/week
Salary: 38,950 including generous benefits
Contract: Fixed term contract until March 2027

The role
The Finance Officer will be key to delivering accurate and timely transactional finance services for Foundations, ensuring financial integrity and compliance with funding agreements and requirements, financial regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
The primary responsibilities of the role include:
Managing and ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions
Ensuring all financial entries, reconciliations, and reporting are completed within strict deadlines
Maintaining meticulous records and upholding data integrity
Processing supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and income receipts
Performing regular bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies promptly
Providing accurate transactional data to support monthly and quarterly financial DfE claims, reports and audits
Coordinating with budget holders and Head of Finance to ensure accurate overhead budgets and reforecasts
Adhering to internal financial controls and government funding conditions, ensuring full audit trail and accountability.
About you
The role requires a strong mix of financial and broader professional skills, including administration and communication. You will have good knowledge of financial regulations and grants compliance, and an interest in developing understanding of charity finance and public sector funding. You will be able to work in a team and on your own initiative. You will also be educated to degree level with interest in pursuing professional accountancy qualifications.
You will have experience of:
Working in transactional finance within a project-based environment (charity or public sector)
Financial systems and Microsoft 365 suite, in particular Microsoft Excel
Meeting tight deadlines while managing competing priorities
