Due to maternity leave, Exmouth Town Council is looking for a Finance Officer to support the RFO in the management of the financial affairs of Exmouth Town Council for a fixed term of twelve months.
Hours 22.5 per week over 3 days.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the financial affairs of Exmouth Town Council and will support the Town Clerk & RFO in providing the Council with detailed financial guidance and reporting.
The successful applicant will be studying or have completed and passed an Accounting Course at level 2 or above, such as AAT or have at least 3 years' experience of working in an accounting environment. They will be able to carry out all aspects of financial transaction processing up to the completion of annual accounts, will be highly literate and numerate, have good IT and presentational skills, and be able to communicate well with all types of audience. Experience of Local Government and familiarity with the Joint Panel On Accountability and Governance (JPAG) Practitioner's Guide and RBS Rialtas Omega accounting software would be preferable.
