37 hours per week, 41 weeks (term time + 2 weeks)
Hours of work are 8am - 4pm (Friday 3.30pm).
Due to retirement of the current post holder, the Governing Body of Caerleon Comprehensive School, a popular high-achieving school with a student role of 1500, is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, organised, and hard-working individual to the key post of Finance Officer. You will have an eye for detail, be able to multi task as well as a commitment to continually review financial procedures in school.
You will be responsible for all ordering and invoicing, oversee equipment budgets, ensure systems are in place to ensure value for money on all contracts and orders, and assist with alternative income streams.
You will manage the School Private Fund which has an annual turnover of circa 700k. You will be responsible for all payments and income, maintaining accounts, submission of returns, reports to the fund committee and ensuring that the fund is managed in line with the school private fund requirements.
Previous experience of using CIA financial system and managing a school private fund would be a distinct advantage.
Once fully embedded into the role we can offer working from home for up to two days a week. We will also be offering an extensive hand over period with the current post holder as part of our induction process and to aid transition.
