What are we looking for?
We're seeking a highly organised Finance Officer with strong payroll and payables experience to join our small Finance team. This new role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing hands-on financial operations with process improvement.
You'll be detail-focused, comfortable with deadlines, and motivated by keeping processes smooth and accurate. If you're someone who enjoys both numbers and people, with a minimum of 2 years payroll experience, this is a great opportunity to grow with us.
Experience of managing and processing payroll through Xero, Sage or similar
Proficiency with finance systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Strong reconciliation and analysis & reporting skills
Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC reporting requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll: Preparation of payroll for 90 staff members
HMRC: Preparation of the P11d information, PSA returns and assisting with future onboarding of the taxing benefits through payroll
Reports: Reconciling payroll accounts, preparing and posting payroll journals, assistance with budget planning and forecasts for both purchases and salaries
Pension: General administration and payment processing
Employee benefits: Administrating gym payments, reconciling Direct Debit transactions, Work-life benefits, Healthcare plan payments.
Credit card: Company credit card control, reconciliations & reports.
Purchase Ledger: Invoice approvals and processing, accruals, prepayments, weekly payment run- multi currency.
Bank & Cash: Daily bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring
VAT: Preparation of VAT returns and assistance with other statutory reporting requirements
Fixed assets: Maintenance of company fixed asset register and depreciation journals
Product Billing support - Working with our digital tagging teams- maintaining the client register for additional charges, assistance with CRM reporting and reconciliations. Assisting the revenue accountant with preparing customer invoices during busy periods
General admin: To assist Finance and HR department as required.
