The Role:
The Finance Officer will support the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer in ensuring that budget holders are seamlessly supported. Operating as a financial expert, the role will support budget holders with operational activities including advice, pre-award costings, post award management and the provision of value-added financial analysis and insights.
The role holder will also contribute to forecasting and a rolling 3-5 year financial plan. The role will support all financial activities within a faculty/professional service including month/year end activities (revenue and capital) and the end-to-end financial support to all aspects of research, innovation, and commercial applications and awards.
The role holder will play a role in ensuring the integrity of financial transactions, the provision of accurate and timely management information that is action orientated, the application of financial regulations, policies, contractual obligations, and funder terms and conditions
The role is required to constructively challenge budget holders to ensure delivery of contribution targets and awards are spent in accordance with the terms and conditions of the awards.
The working pattern for this post is 7.4 hours per day worked over 4 days per week.
Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role.
