We have positioned the Finance service to ensure that it has the capacity and leadership required to deliver the excellent service that is needed and expected in order to achieve the Council's future ambitions. The post holder will have responsibility for being an effective Capital finance business partner for a selection of Council Directorates, as well as assisting the Principal Finance Officer with a number of key year end processes while ensuring that all relevant statutory and regulatory responsibilities are met (and applied in accordance with guidance, regulations and professional standards).
The role will support the Principal Finance Officer in challenging existing arrangements and leading and driving transformation across financial management, whilst ensuring the service is delivering its priorities within budget. Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
