The Finance Officer supports the finance team in managing daily accounting and financial operations. The role is critical in ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in the firm's financial transactions, reporting, and record-keeping. The position also contributes to the preparation of financial statements, internal reports, reconciliations, and the effective implementation of financial controls.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Post transactions into the accounting system.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist in preparing journal entries and accruals.
Cash & Bank Operations
Process payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations.
Monitor bank balances and cash flow positions.
Manage petty cash and support treasury operations.
Financial Reporting
Assist in the preparation of management reports, budget reports, and financial statements.
Maintain supporting documentation for audits and reporting.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
Help ensure tax, statutory, and regulatory filings are submitted on time.
Vendor & Customer Account Management
Support invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor reconciliation.
Follow up on receivables / payables and maintain aging reports.
Administrative & Support Tasks
Maintain proper filing of finance documents.
Assist other departments with financial data or reports as required.
Provide general administrative support to the Finance Department.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's/master's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or ERP systems).
Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and financial analysis.

Reporting & Supervision
The Finance Officer reports directly to the CFO or designated senior finance personnel. The position may also interact with external auditors, banks, vendors, and internal teams.
