We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for a self-motivated, Finance Officer- Sales Ledger.

The purpose of this role is to carry out credit control and sales ledger functions along with cashiering duties on behalf of the college and its subsidiary companies. You will be raising invoices and encourage debtors to pay within the college\'s credit terms by organising reminders and ensuring that any overdue debts are pursued in accordance with college policies to minimise bad debts.

Working as part of the Finance Team you will also be doing Credit Control, Sales Ledgers, Entrepreneurial Activities, and Accounting and other duties.

Our ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum NVQ level 2, but preferably to NVQ Level 3, and will have a minimum 2 years\' experience administering a computerised financial transaction process, of debt recovery, and of working in a financial environment.

A good level of skill and knowledge of the use of Excel and Word is a must, as is being able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, and also having the ability to communicate effectively on financial matters with members of the public and external organisations in writing and by telephone.
