Finance Officer (Transformation) | 8761 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | 39,862 to 41,771 per annum (Scale J) | County Hall / Hybrid
We are looking for a Finance Officer to work alongside our Children's Services Strategy, Planning and Change Team here at Norfolk County Council, and play a key role in helping to track and report on our transformation projects.
Norfolk County Council are the main local authority for Norfolk providing services countywide to Norfolk residents. We take a lead in critical policy areas, and we work in partnership with local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authorities in order to provide the people of Norfolk with excellent services.
Working in a large and complex environment currently going through a significant period of transformational change, you'll be part of a talented, proactive team that makes a real difference and is able to support the continual evolution and long-term objectives of the council. Working with the Senior Programme Accountant, this role offers you the chance to enable, support and drive real change. You will have plenty of opportunities to develop and enhance your existing skill set.
The core focus of the role is to work closely with our Children's Services colleagues by working on a range of transformational change projects. To be considered for the role, you'll need a proven background as a Finance Officer or similar, working as part of a finance team, and you'll be AAT qualified or part-qualified at CCAB level. You'll be competent providing both management and financial accounting information, you'll be comfortable analysing financial and non-financial data, and you'll have experience supporting budget holders and their decision making. You'll also be keen to contribute towards the continual improvement and evolution of the finance function.
We know we're asking for a lot, but in return we think we have a lot to offer. There's the role itself, where you'll be working as part of a team which plays a key role in supporting the work and ambitions of Norfolk County Council. Then there's our working environment, where we put work life balance at the forefront and offer flexible, smarter working arrangements, all underpinned by leading edge technology. We're open to people working from home for the bulk of the time, but if you're already in (or would consider relocating to) Norfolk, we think our unique blend of beaches, broads, countryside and culture is hard to beat!
