We are seeking a Finance Officer for a 12 month fixed term contract to assist with day-to-day finance activities in our busy Finance Department in Winsford. This will be a varied role encompassing a variety of finance and admin tasks.

The Role



This full-time role will assist with our financial processes with the ultimate aim of to ensuring our guests, suppliers & partners are happy. You will work five days a week, 9.00 - 17.30 and the role is based in Winsford, Cheshire, although we can be flexible with time spent in the office for the right candidate.

The role will entail:

Support daily finance operations, including supervising the Finance Assistant, logging student rent payments, and managing Equals card top-ups. Process weekly and fortnightly financial transactions: posting bank items in Sage, rent refunds, proforma payments, staff expenses, supplier invoices, payment runs, and cash-flow checks. Deliver core monthly finance tasks such as payroll, PAYE, pensions, bank reconciliations, supplier payments, OPEX transfers, insurance funding, Equal card reconciliations, deposit reporting, recharge invoices, and month-end adjustments. Complete periodic returns and submissions, including quarterly VAT and utility reporting. Maintain accurate financial records and systems: updating supplier/customer accounts, verifying bank details, ensuring contracts and documents are saved correctly, and managing online billing platforms. Raise and chase sales invoices, monitor outstanding debt, and support site managers with finance onboarding and process guidance. Coordinate office-related finance/administration tasks including managing BT contracts, liaising with the landlord, and ordering supplies. Support compliance activities such as pension re-enrolment, BIK/Class 1A NI submissions, and maintaining process Smartsheets.

The Person:



If you wish to apply for this role, you must:

AAT Level 3-4 or equivalent experience, with strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office, payroll software and (ideally) PBSA systems such as StarRez, Concurrent or Kinetic. Experience working in a small finance team, with accurate data handling, strong attention to detail, and experience preparing monthly payroll. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), friendly and approachable, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders. Highly organised with strong time-management, able to multitask, meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure. Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively; a strong finisher who takes ownership and sees tasks through to completion. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to view issues from different perspectives and present clear, persuasive information. Professional, adaptable, resilient, and committed to maintaining high standards, including personal presentation aligned with company expectations. Willingness to work flexibly when required to meet business needs.

Salary Range:

33,000 - 34,000 p.a.
